On Sept. 4 relief flights continued landing at Lynden Pindling
International Airport (LPIA) with much-needed supplies for the islands
impacted by Hurricane Dorian. A disaster response team from the
non-denominational Christian group, Samaritan’s Purse began a two-day
mission to airlift supplies into The Bahamas.
Commercial
airlines including Air Canada, American Airlines, Jet Blue, Delta and
others also brought in relief items when flying passengers into LPIA.
Supplies from the commercial flights were taken from the aircraft,
placed on helicopters and other aircraft and sent directly to Abaco and
Grand Bahama Island.
