The Government of The Bahamas will acquire the Grand Lucayan with the
intention of saving jobs and energizing spinoff employment for Grand
Bahamians.  Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Hubert Minnis made the
announcement on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 during a media briefing after
an extensive tour of the Grand Lucayan, accompanied by Cabinet
Ministers and government officials.  The Prime Minister revealed that
his government made a $10 million deposit on the $65 million purchase
