Thank you for joining us today as we have two very importantannouncements to share with the Bahamian public. This week marks the
beginning of the Pre-Test for Census 2020, which is an important trial
exercise to ensure all systems are running before we launch the Official
Census of Housing and Population in September.
The Department
of Statistics has been conducting the Census since 1970, so the process
would be routine in normal circumstances. However, Census 2020 is a
milestone year in many respects, because it is the first year that we
