In her newly released, deeply emotional memoir, Zetta Sylvia
Baillou-Poitier shares the challenges of raising children with sickle
cell disease and the pain of losing her daughter, in a story that’s
relatable to anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one, regardless of
circumstance.

 
“I was inspired to write the book after the death
of my daughter,” said the mother of two. “The book is to keep Vashti’s
memory alive and it’s also dedicated to my son, Vance.”
